The Amazing Hush Backstory

You want to know about Hush.  Ok, here’s the background info.

Hush was born in Queens NYC, but he grew up primarily with his Aunt May.  During high school he was somewhat of a science whiz and won a lot of awards, but he was bullied by jocks.  The bullying didn’t help his self esteem, obviously, but he said there was one girl in high school (I think her name was Mary Jane) who gave him the time of day.  On a high school field trip he suddenly became really really sick and had to be rushed to the hospital.  Apparently he had developed an odd disease they THINK was contracted by a bug bite of some sort. 

Thankfully Hush recovered from his illness better than was expected, and I think some of his natural talents and muscular physique were enhanced by that whatever disease he’d caught.  He subsequently became a great climber, is extremely agile and has great eyesight at night.  Around this time he also invented some little wrist device that aids climbers in shooting webbing onto rock anchors, thus allowing them to cling more effectively to slick surfaces. 

So Hush’s work during the day is in the lab inventing things.  At night he takes off wearing spandex, so I’m pretty sure he goes to the gym or something because he always comes back exhausted. 

Hush life motto is “With great power there must also come great responsibility.” 

I guess you could say he’s a pretty cool guy, for an orphaned scientist climber who wears spandex all night and sometimes calls me Mary Jane.
