The Best Jesus Ever!

In our family, we plan the births of our children in order to score the best role for their stage debut. The youngest child always plays Baby Jesus.

Hmm, which character from the nativity should I be? There's Alice and Celia. Both NOT Jesus. You had your day last year, Alice.
Here, the little angel is wrapped in only swaddling clothes. Yes, I both woke her up and then stripped her naked.
And the whole nativity scene. All children ages 9+ were adequately bribed.

Once again, a REAL star is born. Is that not the happiest baby Jesus you've ever seen?

Clearly, she was born to play that role.

Very typecast indeed.

So cute. Did you leave the diaper on? Or were you willing to risk an accident?

About the kissing pictures: We're such a rad couple that people line up on the streets to see us kiss. No, actually, it was the photographer who took our family pictures. The funny thing about this is we're totally not a PDA couple. It's not that we're against it, but we just rarely kiss in public.

Oh yes, very cute indeed. But might I just add, she has great hair. I'd like mine to look like that. And the Baby Bloom is darling too. Can't wait to get mine! (I mean baby Meg's!) I promise I won't wear them in my hair.

Yes. Jesusette is cute. More importantly, what the heck is Camille wearing?

I have a signed contract from grandma that says I dont have to be Mary next year. Just for the record.

I have no doubt baby Jesus stood up in that manger and smiled brightly for everyone that brought him gifts. Didn't the wisemen take a few years to get there? He probably was that old.

She is adorable.

You know with your mom's costume supply, you guys don't truly get the whole joy of "towel on the head", "tin foil halo" thing.

She is such a cutie. Those will be such fun pictures to look back on. Precious!

Wow, Camille is such a good sport. Who is getting pregnant next? Will Ellie provide the next Baby Jesus? Will you? And isn't it totally bizarre that I am asking such a personal question on a blog?

OK, she is rather cute. I thought Alice played Jesus again. That's who it was in the pics I saw.

Camille is wearing MOMS WEDDING DRESS! Don't you recognize?

What the hell? What is with that sick picture of me? Please remove it or I will get you.

Mimi is a great baby Jesus, but more importantly, she's got great hair. After years of fighting with and crying over your own hair, isn't it nice to have a baby with beautiful hair? That's what makes me feel a little better about my mop...Harrison didn't inherit it. Hoo-rah.

She's beautiful. SO of course she is destined to play the Christchild role.

I'm getting lots of compliments on my baby blooms. Everyone LOVES them.

Awesome! She makes a great Jesus.

So, who gets to be baby Jesus next year? Is it a race to the finish?

She is the cutest little baby Jesus ever. I LOVE the homemade nativity scenes-- especially when old kids like Camille and Max have to dress up. That happens in my family too and it is FUN.

Okay, I didn't grow up with everyone dressing up as the Nativity story...so what exactly happens? Do you dress up and then take pictures? Read the Christmas story and have the appropriate actors enter the scene? Is there any allowance for ad-libbing? If so, I want to play the inn keeper.

Darling baby girl.
