Even though I helped choreograph 'Guys and Dolls' the kids forgot to thank me.
My husband left me in the cold waiting for him to pick me up for over an hour and never returned my calls.
Nobody likes me, everybody hates me, I guess I'll go eat this for dinner:
This is my attempt at crotch pot cooking. It was supposed to be a brisket.
Thank you to Paige who watched Mimi today at said blog party. Had I known it was a blog party, I would have rearranged my schedule. But I was not invited.

You would have been invited if you'd ever called me back. You couldn't come anyway, I happen to know. You had to work.
Mimi was awfully cute yesterday.
I walked in the door, saw Mimi and said,in a thrilled voice, "LENORE's here?!" And then Paige burst my bubble. But you can ask her...that is a completely true story.
yea. me neither.
yea. me neither.
guess you'll have to go eat worms.
"crotch" pot cooking? sorry, after I read that, my other comment flew right out of my head!
I invited you, but you had to work. Moms who work miss the fun. Sorry, if you want to work more I'd love love love to have Mimi, and have all the fun while you are working. People will do anything for money. Like work.
the irony of the crotch pot (i hereafter always refer to it in this way) is thus: it beckons you with it's ease of dinner preparation. and yet....by the time it's ready, the smell of it all day has so steadily repulsed you that, come dinner, you have no desire to eat it.
hmmm, I think I see a fad diet in there somewhere.
Dear Lenore,
Try this in your crockpot:
1 can cream of mushroom (can be low-fat)
1 brick of cream cheese (can be neufchatel)
1 cup of milk
1 cup of sour cream (can be reduced fat)
1/2 cube butter (use butter)
1 envelope of Zesty Italian seasoning
4-6 chicken breasts, no need to chop up or anything
Put everything but the chicken in the crackpot. Stir it all up. It will be lumpy because of the cream cheese and butter, but no big deal. Put the chicken in and try to smear as much of the sauce as you can on the chicken. If the chicken breasts are frozen, set the crackpot on high for about 6-7 hours, if they are thawed set it on high for 4-5 hours or low for 7 or so.
At some point, maybe halfway through or more, stir it up. If you are home to stir it about an hour into it, try that, it will cook a little faster (esp if you used froz chx). Before you serve it, use forks to moosh or shred the chicken into bite-sizeish chunks. Serve over steamed rice (my favorite) or pasta.
It is so easy and so yummy (I didn't say healthy or gourmet). My kids ask for this all the time. You can not go wrong. Embrace the crockpot.
PS--I love your new background, kudos to Paige.
