Norophobic

Pho·bi·a /ˈfoʊbiə/ [foh-bee-uh] –noun
a persistent, irrational fear of a specific object, activity, or situation that leads to a compelling desire to avoid it.

Smurfette has Vermiphobia.

Whenever the phone rings and the number is unfamiliar, it sends a little chill up my spine. I'm convinced that the caller is calling to reprimand me for some wrongdoing. Sure, it's an irrational fear, but I harbor it nonetheless. My phobia is called Hamartophobia: fear of error. I am an equal opportunity offender, but I rarely aim to specifically insult. Perhaps I simply fear someone caring enough about what I say to a) be really offended b) let the offense fester without pointing it out immediately c) finally try to confront me.
My worst nightmare is the phone message, "Hi, we need to talk. Call me back right away." I would rather die than return that phone call. I've just given up on friendships rather than confront an error or offense. Yes, I'm a small person.

-"you've really disappointed me"-aphobia (sorry paige if I've ever worn ugly shoes or my daughter's hair is ugly around you!)
-kidnapaphobia
-bromidrosiphobia-fear of having unpleasant body odor. I'm serious.
-scotophobia-the dark. Serious again.
At least I'm not afraid of looking like a weeny. I admit openly. In aggregate, it looks as though my biggest fear is being kidnapped in the dark by somebody who is disappointed in me for smelling bad.

Mardee, at least you are wearing cute shoes when kidnapped.

Nice cut and paste job.

I don't see anything about David Bowie. Am I the only one?

Emetophobia! Luckily my kids didn't make me sick!

I, like Mardee, have the bromid one. And due to having a strong sense of smell, I wish more people had this same phobia!

I didn't see this one, but I am afraid of semi trucks--you know, the one sitting on the main road next to my house, idling for hours and hours and hours and what if it puts itself in gear and runs over me while I'm walking on the opposite side of the road or what if it tries to run me off the road at the point of the mountain or sloshes snow on my windsheild and make it impossible to see out or. . .

I have a huge fear of heights. It's sad really, because I've passed the fear onto my daughter. She won't go on any of the fun rides at Disneyland.

Fear of thinking, seriously? Can I really use that as an excuse sometime?

What would the fear of your really long list be? I couldn't make it past the e's. Sorry.

By the way, I have a fear of deep dark water. Was that on the list?

Where are you Nor!

I am disappointed to see your same old background. You need to call Paige.

Holy cow. Please tell me you copied/pasted that list. Otherwise, you are one dedicated blogger. I agree with you about the unfamiliar phone numbers.

When Zach was little I had a bad case of baby-cry-a-phobia. It usually came in the dead of night when I was peacefully dreaming. I would immediately want to run and hide. I had yet to learn about letting babies cry it out. I have learned. Phobia gone. Plus, he's 9 now.

mom has intense arachnophobia. the other day on the way home from conference we almost died because there was a moving van with a giant picture of a spider on the side. mom had to speed up, then change lanes so she could be ahead of the scary truck.
